I took my 2016 Fiat 500 POP to a mechanic to have the driver's window fixed. They replaced the regulator (?). When I picked the car up, the odometer was flashing and the radio unit will not turn on. They said bring back next day. Next day wouldn't' start, battery completely depleted. Jumped and took back this was almost 2 weeks ago. They have ran every diagnostic they can, replaced the battery, checked all fuses, finally determined the BCM needed to be reprogrammed. They brought a programmer in today from a dealership they work with, and he tried 3 times and it wouldn't program. They said the reprogramming goes through the radio and believe the radio has gone out.
1. Will a non working radio keep the BCM from reprogramming?
2. If everything else is working except the radio, is the car safe to drive?
3. Will this drain the battery again?
BTW I was not charged for any of the diagnostics or attempts at reprogramming.
