The van's MOT is looming up soon, so some preparation for him to pass has started.
So a rare free saturday came up at Wayne's (my other half) workshop, for the van to go on the ramp so he could have his welding done. Waynes business is only based around racecar, rollcage and chassis fabrication, so it was rather funny to see the panda stealing a few hours on the ramp, it also provoked wayne in to often muttering 'bl**dy fiats'! No matter how hard I try, he'll never be a fan !
Anyway, some fair substantial welding was required around the nearside shock mount and a small-ish patch on the front of the floor to sill. Its quite scary really, how a car can be all shiny on top but have such a rusty bottom ! I suppose its because its been my daily driver for the past four years or so, come rain or shine - I suppose it takes its toll eventually.
The welding is all done now, i've bought all new shock absorbers, ball joints, bottom arms, and EBC brakes and drums, that'll be the next lot of work to do - watch this space !!
