General Battery replacement

Hi all, my daughter has a 2020 Abarth 500 turismo automatic, car has just shown engine management light on and when she selects 1st gear it some times say not available, I have put a multimeter on battery and it's showing 12.29 volts at rest, if a new battery is fitted does it need coding to car, car only has around 15000 miles on clock.

Reset the clock and maybe the driversside window.
