Battery question

Off the back of some of Tom's ("Pap") comments regarding the stock negative lead from the battery, I have been looking to replace it with something a little more capable.

I found some in Hellfords today, various lengths, prices etc.
I was wondering what length lead is needed for the Bravo 100 16v?
And
Why is a lead w/o the rubber insulation (bare twine) more expensive (£5.79) than the longer version with insulation (£3.99)?

You need one about 2ft long The helfords ones are still just as pap.

Ah, I live in Lincoln (heard of it?) .

There were none that were more than 20" or so if I remember. I've looked on the Maplins site - no luck.

Also, what should I be paying for something like this?
