I've recently noticed the indicator on my battery is no longer a lovely shade of green - more like a very pale (almost clear) yellow.
Thing is, it fires almost the instant it turns so there's not indication of a problem other than the 'indicator'.
Although most of my journeys are short, I also do a 20 mile each way trip at least 3 times per week.
Do I start looking round for a new battery now or will this one last?
I know you used to be able to buy some tabs to drop into the cells but never was sure how good they were.
Also, if I take the battery off to charge overnight, will there be any effect on the remote key/central locking/ecu etc?

I'd be inclined to ignore the indicator window personally. Never found them accuratly.

In relation to disconnecting the battery, shouldn't affect the immobiliser / RCL at all from experience.

Jon.
(y) cheers
Last car I had, the battery was still good after 9 years - indicator showed green. But that was a petrol engine, although it did have central locking.
Never had a car with all the on-board trickery before though.
