Re: dashboard control module

Easier perhaps, but it doesn't fix the problem.

Fuse F39 is one of the fuses supplied by F71.

F39 protects the radio, have you tried disconnecting the radio yet? as I suggested back in post 5.
.
i have taken the radio out today but there was minimal change
i think i have already checked the components on the diagram i have taken every single fuse and relay out individually inside and outside the car and none have changed the reading that much
i wonder whether there is a permanent live going to my cluster as i said at the beginning that the warning triangle is lit saying there is a fault with the brake lights even though there isn't.i wonder if it could be causing a short :confused:

Hi. I have had the same thing with the brake light warning for no apparent reason. For the price of a couple of bulbs I changed them anyway and the warning went out.
Not sure if the resistance changes before the bulb blows and triggers the warning light.

hi mate did that at the very beginning but made no difference even changed the 3rd brake light assembly too

The instrument cluster is supplied from fuse F53 in the dashboard fuse box (B2).

So you would already have checked for the drain being caused by the instrument cluster.

False bulb failure warning messages are very common on the Stilo. The system works by measuring the total resistance of each bulb circuit, including the bulb filament. It then triggers the warning if a circuit is above or below the specified resistance. False warnings are usually caused by a poor connection between the wiring connector and the bulb holder, or between the bulb holder and bulb. They can also be triggered by an old, or poor quality bulb.

yes i agree with you i would have already checked somewhere along the line
Ah well back to the drawing board it is :bang:

hi
i just thought i would give an update on the battery drain problem i was having
It turned out to be the instrument cluster causing all the problems
I had it reconditioned by a person in Manchester who fixes them for £59.99 and guarantees them for life and said there was quite a number of problems wrong with mine even though they all didn't show on the clocks
I re fitted them back into my car and did the drain test and the drain was gone.
If anyone would like the persons number etc. please feel free to PM me (if that's ok moderators ? )
Thanks for all your help
