Hi All
I have a 2005 Swift Motorhome with a 2.3JTD engine. On starting, the battery charge light does not go out until I rev the engine to about 1400rpm.
I have checked the Alternator belt and it is not slipping. Once the light goes out - it stays out until I start the engine next time. During a week away recently the fault dissappeared after a couple of days, but starting the engine again yesterday - the fault was back.
I have also checked as many harnesses as I can see / reach and all seems tight. Anybody else had this problem or would like to hazard a guess as to what it might be.
I don't really want to buy a new alternator to find it does not fix it. The Fridge relay does not pick either until I rev the engine so I am pretty sure that there are no volts coming out of the alternator or there is a harness problem until the speed increases. Odd that is went away for a few days though.
Any help appreciated - thanks in advance
