OK i haven't checked it out but it seems like a bargain to me, first 250 people only!
  • Mobile AMD Sempron Processor 2600+
  • 256 Mb RAM
  • 128 Kb cache
  • 40 Gb Hard Drive
  • DVD ReWriter Multidrive
  • 15.1 " TFT display
  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
  • 64Mb S3 UniChrome Pro IGP Graphics
  • 56k Modem
  • 1 year FREE warranty

Won'tbreak any speed records but damn good for the money!!!

After much trying it seems both Stu and I got one, him in MK, me in Aylesbury wherever that is....now testing Stu's friendship over whether he will pick it up for me!

Trade secrets....;)

Right, anybody want a bargain AMD laptop....DVD-RW etc. £425 inc. postage? :D Be brand new, boxed, full PC world guarentee, as if you bought it from them but £170 odd less....!!!

Otherwise going on ebay.....

Paul *cheeky bugger but telling himself he is 'providing a service'*

£425 - sounds like a bargain to me.....

Looks like I got a bit of a jaunt later, oh well. At that price, who cares - just need to buy myself a wifi gateway and PCMCIA card for home use, cool (y) - it is only going to be used for surfing.

Don't think you should mind too much considering the deal I got you :p

Yet again an offer came up that I couldn't full appreciate but rely on somebody else to help me out...typical! On the upside I would have done the same for Stu or anybody else at a moment's notice.

Got to be on the ball...:D

I was lucky, checked moneysavingexpert as I checked here and saw it, 5 seconds later stu knew and 30 seconds later this post.

The price holds above....it's a bargain for £425. I can't go any lower as I know I should get more than that on ebay and I can't afford not to make a bit of money on it. If anybody is interested in that region, PM me....I can give you a website to make memory 512mb for £11+vat and it can go wireless (if needed) for £5.

On the ball ?? It's called being at work with the boss watching !!!! :p

At the price on the website I could have risked putting it on my credit card
but not any higher.

On that note......anybody know where I can get a USB for a crappy laptop
that currently doesn't have one ?? Oh and a USB external CD drive. Oh and
wireless card???!! Don't want much do I ! :p

My branch has...............................

two in stock.................................but..............................the offer closed at midday, it's now 1347........................gutted!

Ah, adding USB to an old laptop is very difficult. First you have to know if your PCMCIA slot is cardbus or not.....if it is, you can add USB (assuming windows 98 SP 2 I believe but that's a long time ago for me!) in the form of a PCMCIA cardbus USB card. etc. etc.

Nah still get:

SORRY

Due to high demand the following item(s) are currently unavailable.

PACKARD BELL E6100 MOBILE AMD SEMPRON PROCESSOR 2600+ LAPTOP

Now in English ! :p Tis running 98, I know that much. No idea what cards
it's got in it !!

Well, picked them both up [only a 100 mile round trip after I left the office at 4.45 (y)].

No questions asked by PCW staff - some of them tried to get orders in themselves, but their system was crashing as well. Talk about a total overload....I said DSG staff not allowed to buy them surely, he winked, and my reply was 'well, I just been to Milton Keynes to pick up the other one ;)' - so much for being restricted to one per household.

Not a bad lappy for £290 - can't even compete with my tower system, but will get some wifi gear sorted, and surfing from lounge becomes a reality.

Cheers Paul :)

Nope cheers Stu :)

(He got me one, if i fail to sell it on ebay for profit he will offload it onto somebody else for cost price.....hmm, what a risk I am taking ;))
