Sorry if this is old ground - I've already trawled old threads on this subject.

Can anyone tell me exact measurements for the main speakers in front of the door and also the size of the tweeters.

I am going to fit a new stereo and initially upgrade the front speakers and then upgrade to having 4 speakers when I can source a barchetta woofer box/speaker shelf thing.

I know that the depth of the speakers is pretty critical (shallow) but can anyone recommend any particular speakers as being a successful choice???

I'm a bit lost when it comes to car audio but I know I'm tired of the original setup, which I rarely bother with as I can't hear it!

Thanks, Tom

it's a bit limited space... the best is to remove them and take them to the shop. about tweeter... i was not able to find some that will fit, because originals have a mask that is attached (by turning) to big holder... so if you'll buy non originals you will have to do some improvements to fit. i bought some that were some smaller than hole, and i make them fit by few rounds with insulating tape.

it's not from barchetta, but it's same.

and when fit non originals... (and if hole was bigger, then few rounds of black tape will do a job, and will not be visible)

I had new speakers fitted a few years back and they found new tweeters and speakers that work with the original fittings but there were limited options as I recall. That said, they were not particularly expensive. If you can find a independent they often have lists of what will fit in your car. You can access this from some manufacturers on-line if you have the time and patience to search. I'll try and dig out the receipt for mine and post the brands.

Hi the best replacements found were the Infinity 6010 CS reference units. A few of us have fitted these with no issues. Personally I've also fitted a Pioneer sub bass unit in the boot, it's a very thin unit which fits perfectly in the space available, giving superb bass within the limitations of having it in a remote area.

These are my Infinity tweeters I fitted. They had in-line crossovers and fitted as a direct replacement. I will try to find out what model no they were.

I switched the footwell speakers to Alpine SXE-1750S 6.5" and I am about to finally install my original Barchetta subwoofer box fitted with 2 Infinity mid-range speakers.
