Re: Sorted

you should try and get hold of one of these kits -http://cgi.ebay.com/8PCS-RADIAL-TUBELESS-TIRE-TYRE-PUNCTURE-PLUG-REPAIR-KIT_W0QQitemZ260314329083QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item260314329083&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
so easy to do and has never failed me, ive fixed loads of my friends punctures with them and they have never failed. takes about 20 seconds to do. I had exact same as you, pulled out the screw put in the wad and done.

Re: Sorted

Looking around on the net e-tyres will repair it for £15 + VAT & if you buy a tyre from them in the future and show your receipt they take the £15 + VAT off the price & you get free puncture repairs on your new tyre.

Gonna phone them tomorrow:D

Jackos on Tweedale or Chase Tyres on Halesfield mate (y)

I dont like the look of them Beany... the plugs a pro uses are mushroom shaped and glued in as well. Impossible for them to blow out, not like the simple "plugs" in that kit unless I am missing something?

no your not missing anything but i have repaired about 15 of my friends tires over the last few years (bought a whole load of them in wallmart when i was in the states for like $3), and not one has ever failed. i trust them. and so easy to do. seriously.

Ok not so good they wanted me to pick and pay for a tyre up front in case it wasn't repairable & then they would refund the difference:eek:

And they didn't even do a tyre the same as mine:doh:

Shame really as their tyre fitting service is good.

Off to ATS tomorrow to get it patched.

I was a fitter for ATS a few years back and any object that goes through the tread part of the tyre should be vulcanised (or at least have an inner tube fitted), also, if it was anything faster than a 1.2 I wouldn't even bother with that. A rule of thumb was if the object went through the side wall then the tyre was regarded as scrap as no guarantee could be given.

Thats what they told me (not ATS, but RAC). I drove over a nail, and when they where changing the tyre we where chatting, and I asked if it would be worth repairing, or just getting a new one. They said a new one for the above reasons.

Went for the cheapest one as it was just before payday, so I was broke as well (That being said, I'm generally broke the day after pay day ), think I paid £35 for it, fitted etc...and I got clubcard points
