this will be my first xmas in my house. i was hoping for a quiet day, just me and the mrs exchanging gifts and bodily fluids, but no; the in-laws are coming round for dinner complete with 12yo brat and pet dog. WTF x10.

i wouldnt let them bring the dog.

i wouldnt let them either, and i am just as surprised, but i have no choice really.

they live in birmingham now and they're coming up for a couple of days so they either bring the dog or leave it at home alone or stick it in a kennel.

my plan is to make it stay in the garden. i will make a special kennel for it with xmas treats and plenty of warmth. that way they will feel too guilty to suggest it should stay inside when i've gone to all that trouble.

£15 limit per human this year. xmas gets out of control when the Mrs is allowed to choose pressies. its like there is some kind of competition to see who can spend the most money on each other. she has 4 sisters so it can easily get out of hand

Crap at buying pressies but I absolutely love Xmas. I actually listened to some Christmas tunes in my car the other night. It was dark outside, raining and chilly - reminded me of my favourite time of year so I whacked on Cool Yule, the swinging sound of Xmas.
