Compression. on last service were the air and fuel filters changed? check glow plugs first. do you wait for glow plug light to go out before trying to start? try waiting for glow plug light to go out then switch off and give it another glow cycle .

THEN attempt to crank the engine.. if it helps..it's worth changing plugs..
