General Back on the road

Just taken my little Fiat for an mot after sitting for 20 months in the garage, flew through no problem, also first chance to test the 126 gearbox I had fun fitting and it changes sweet. I've just applied on line for a tax disk to start 1/6/13 and have a receipt for this, can anyone tell me if I will be ok with this receipt if I take her out this weekend or can I get done for no tax disc even though there's no cost and I have proof its in the post?

You've paid for it, so it's valid.

Theoretically, I think that there's an offence of "not displaying".

My 500 was off the road for 8 years, so when I put it back on the road this year, I had the pleasure of driving around with a Nov 2003 tax disc...
