Technical AVO rear dampers

I used the 500 for work today, the first time since fitting the avo's. The rear end didn't jump and skip on corners like before and the ride was good.
The speed humps are a revelation. Excellent damping and no pogo effect.
I don't think you would need to use shorter bump stops either.

But just removed them and fitted the factory dampers. The rattle has gone and golden silence (apart from engine, wind and tyre noise ) is back.

I spoke to AVO yesterday about the rattle. They said there's nothing in there to rattle. Something's not right though.
They'll have to go back. I'm quite happy for another pair as I thought the way they worked was great, I just can't put up with the noise from them.

Lost opportunity for AVO. If they could get them to work on the 500 / TA I reckon there would be a lot of buyers for them.

On the phone today about a set of FSDs with KONI. They offered me the FSDs at a good price but when I asked about warranty I ran on 'thin ice' with a reply that 12-24 months is what's generally offered.

Koni do exclude the TA from the compatibility list & I don't know why.
The STR.T version (with no adjustment) are not available for the 500.
From the Panda section they seem to have had success with the Konis.

I imagine that after your experience with the AVOs you'll probably wait on the outcome of the B14s.

It's about time I got back to AVO and sorted this once and for all.

Some anecdotal evidence from other end users would always come in handy.

Unsure if the AVO and Gaz are the same shock. They both appear to be identical (except for the colour). Pulce who where supplying the AVOs asked that any returns be sent directly to AVO. Might be worthwhile contacting them.

I have included some references on the AVOs which were mainly on one thread and the others are in reference to the Gaz. Include a video clip of the 'early batch' of Koni FSDs that were supplied and fitted by Abarth - it might sound like the issue you had.

Good stuff, interesting to hear the exact same rattling coming from the fiat ss dampers.
