Just wondered what the average price people are paying is as the pandas supposed to be the cheapest thing to insure.
My renewal is over £400 with 4 yrs no claims and 1 accident.

It'll depend on age and postcode as much as anything.

We pay a little less than half that amount but are 40+

Hi,

This is a good place for me to start posting as I've just taken out insurance for my wife (31) on her 2012 Panda 1.2 Lounge (we pick it up on Saturday). She has 0 NCB but 4 years as a named driver on our other car. It came in at £365 (with myself as named driver, I'm 38) and we are based in Leeds. Hope that helps?

I don't think the answers are going to be much help to you.

Due to the arrival of a dog, I'm about to change my car from my beloved 500S TA 105, probably to a Panda 4x4 or Trekking. Fiat aren't taking orders for Trekkings atm pending the arrival of the revised model, so I'm waiting.

I checked out what it would cost me to insure a panda, and a few other models I'd considered. I used a comparison website, put my details in, then changed the cars to compare, it's really easy to do. I'm 50 with a full NCB. However, I always pay the added premium for NCB protection. I do not go for the lowest quote, rather the lowest quote from a company I'd trust - AutoExpress do an annual survey.

My quote for the Panda TA 4x4 was £250. I got quotes for other models I'd considered included the Mini Clubman Cooper, Suzuki Swift Sport, Fabia Estate 1.2 TSi 110 ranging from insurance group 6 to 19. Everyone single one of them came back in the £250 to £260 range!

Your age, driving history, location, job, whether it's garaged etc have much more influence than the car (within reason).

A few days ago I received an email from Admiral Insurance... my renewal due in September for three cars insured fully comp (a 14 year old Volvo V70 insured for me and my wife, and two Fiat Pandas –1 year old and 4 years old – covered for us both and our 2 student daughters aged 19 and 21 (one on each Panda) – £1712.54.

After just one phone call to them expressing surprise at the amount, they immediately discounted it to – £1369.41.

After a few hours messing about on price comparison sites, and 2 or 3 more calls to Admiral, the renewal had come down to – £986.41.

Nothing has changed in the policies themselves, the cover offered was the same in the afternoon as it was in the morning, only the price changed!
