Hi,

Has anyone tried to get auxillary input to the Bravo SX radio ( )?

I am thinking about trying to use a portable CD player or MP3 player with the radio. It might be possible to use the input for the CD-changer..?

All comments welcome.

Cheers,
Ove

you can et kits where one bit goes into the tape deck and one into the cigarette lighter to enable you to use a portable CD player.

Hope this helps

yep

Yes, I have seen those kits..
However they are not very good quality (not the ones I've seen anyway), and to add insult to injury, the tapedeck on my headunit is broken, so the tape cover can't open.

Re: Re: yep

I have one of those kits and it works perfectly, just CD quality as if through a home CD player. Although sometimes I knock the power lead when I change gear and it goes off, very annoying!!

My tape deck was broke by my mate but I just had a fiddle and managed to remove it completely with a knife, then just refitted it and now it works fine, although mine was stuck about halfway not fully down like yours, let me know how you got on if you try and fix it.

Anyway tonight I ordered a Kenwood KDC 7024 headunit tonight, just because I was sick of plugging it in every time I got into the car, and then hiding it from thieves everytime I got out.

There are obviously lot's of benefits to a head unit but this is has to be balanced against the price.

Good luck

Re

I have been thinking about a new headunit, but I thought I would try and see if I could fix it first.

Latest news is that I managed to get the lid open..
Turns out some previous owner (Get this!) GLUED the lid shut!
Apparently the lid opening mechanism broke, so they glued the lid on to make it still look nice.

Now I just gotta work out if I can fix the thing.

Btw, might actually be that I can use one of those kits now... Haven't actually checked whether the tape
deck can play tapes or if its just the lid they broke.

I'll grab a tape and go check that. :)

Cheers,
Ove
