Hi people

Pick your brains please

I have a TD125 HLX which had a squeaky belt, now I have a problem. The squeaky belt snapped so its in the garage. I thought the belt had melted onto the front plastic like pulley but the mechanic says :

the forward plastic pulley has melted
the second plastic pulley (nearest cockpit) is seazed and the top plastic pulley has also melted.

Does this sound at all right ? Where can I get hold of new pulleys please

Cheers

Tiler

Re: Auxilary belt

take it its a marea?

the 5pot beast is er a bit of a beast with pulleys and belts everywhere.

seized/melted belt sand pulleys have happened for a reason, either...

water ingress/long periods of no usage has seized the pulley bearings
a/c compressor, steering pump, self levelling suspension pump (?), alternator has seized for whatever reason.
something stuck in there.
belt casing has come dislodged and caught on th belt (likely as the clips are rubbish).

hopefully you don't have to remove the engine to do the aux belts, although you may need to prop the engine and remove one of the mounts. friad I'm not familiar with the 5pot mareas

Re: Auxilary belt

Yes Marea, they are going to drop the engine but I need to get the parts where should I look for these any idea ?/

Re: Auxilary belt

well if they do drop the engine for the love of god change the cam belt at same time, part doesn't cost much.

as for parts..

fiat dealer (last resort)
desira group
shop4parts (unlikely they've have em all but should have cam belt kit at decent price).

other than that, unlikely :bang:
