Does anyone have any clues as to why my daughters dualogic transmission now only operates in manual mode.
Thanks in anticipation(y)

Ok thanks for the info, sorry it forgot to mention it is 2007 1.4 punto. It has 110,000 ks on the speedo and has been regularly serviced

quite likely the fluid has never been touched, so

1, check level + top-up - often that's enough,

2, get it changed - maybe better to change than put good fluid in a dirty unit

are there no associated error codes..??

I don't know how to check for error codes, how is this done?

Is there some online directions on how to change the fluid and importantly what type of transmission fluid do I use

ps I really appreciate the responses especially in light of the upcoming ashes whitewash :)

hello ..had same problem with my dualogic! get a garage with a scanner on the board & get the fault cleared (it's a glitch) nothing to do with low oil blah blah

Hi Geoff,

you need to plug an electronic " code-reader" into the special socket near the fuse board,

this will list any fault code numbers, then the box can clear these faults,
hopefully restoring normal service..!!

the fluid is actually hydraulic type fluid that operates the gear-changing system, if the fluid drops below a certain point - this can create such problems,

Ashes Whitewash.. is that like the old army punishment of painting coal..??;)

sounds torture = almost like watching Cricket..!!:D

hope that makes sense, :)

I know of people with similar issues with their dualogic Puntos, as theres no real Fiat specialists in Aus and the dealer prices are extortionate, try taking it to one of Australia's Alfa specialists.

good idea, as it's the same system, (y)

feel free to list a few and State / City location,;)
