Technical Automatic gearbox

Hi, I have a Motorhome Burstner Argos 747-2 from 2004. The special with it is that the car have a 4 gear automatic gearbox, very unusual on these 747-2 motorhomes. The automatic gearbox is propably a ZF but not sure, its defenetly not a Robot gearbox. I have tried to seek what is the code for it but failed. maybe someone at this forum knows. The Burstner is build on Fiat Ducato chassi on AL-KO frame and a 2.8L JTD from 2004.

Don't know if related, but some years ago trying get a drive shaft for a smallbus/converted motorhome, I beleive that was ZF related and strangely like certain large Renault saloons around then, in so much as it was front engine, front wheel drive , but postioned front to rear and the gearbox pointed towards the "transmission tunnel" if it was normal front to rear old school.
A bit like Hewland Racing gearboxes style.
I appreciate yours is auto but may be of that style layout.
Incidentally if the transmission was rear wheel drive as the Iveco Daily and Renault Mascot/Mastif were rear wheel drive but used the same Iveco/Sofim 2.8 engine? Although I never came across an automatic version at the time, but there probably were some.
Any chance of a photo of the box.
Having said all this I am guessing yours is front wheel drive as using the AL-Ko frame.
If it is ZF there are companies advertising repars etc. in UK, maybe some nearer you.

I Think the gearbox is a ZF 4HP20 but not sure, have not checked under the car yet. but have do it pretty soon. the gearbox is slipping a little on low gears (1 and 2) and slow speed. I get some info that you could order a burstner 2004 with automatic transmission as additional equipment. but very unusual. The strange thing is that i asked burstner i germany and they could not tell me what gearbox i have!!

You would have thought they would keep records.
At least with it being a high quality gearbox repairs should be possible, there seem to be several in the UK, but maybe harder to find where you are.

Correct, the one that came to sweden was imported from germany and all exept mine with manual transmission.
