Sorry but I do find that really poor - yet they will go on a free holiday to god know what country to test drive a lambo or whatever.

Sorry but they cant be bothered to support their readers and show an interest then why should people be bothered about reading the mag. I find it shocking!

Its all true!
Two years ago i contact Auto italia mag and asked the if they would be intrested in doing a artical on my car they said yes but we would also need a Mk2 Uno turbo to do a full page story not just yours.
Pics were sent and they liked.
Two years passed and all was forgot!!Auto italia got in touch with the my other club the fiat motor club gb which they got in touch with me and then thats when i got the phone calls weeks off waiting and then said Newcastle was to fare away!
I Could go on all night about them:mad:

This is a prime example of what's wrong with AI. That is a car that 90% of us here would have enjoyed reading about. If they can travel to Italia then they can travel to Newcastle surely!?
They must think Newcastle at the north pole or sumit but no good crying  over a cr*p mag thats life:(

Are you upset because we didn't feature the Uno Turbo or are you upset because we didn't feature YOUR car?

The november edition of auto italia has a 6 page feature on the Mk1 and the Mk2 fiat uno turbo. It was too far to travel up to newcastle from hatfield - so we sourced two really nice ones localy.

now theres an odd thing, a cursory glance through the internet would reveal at least one site dedicated to the uno turbo (turbo collective) with a massive selection of mk1'2 and 2's to pick from, and this site, which had a fair few.

at santa pod about 2 years ago, the collective got nearly 20 odd tubs of varying sorts together, just fo rthe heck off it.......

I'm sure they are invited by Ferrari or Maserati who probably pay for accomodation etc since it's their cars being featured... just a thought

exactly, all expenses paid trip to marenello to test drive the latest piece of automotive exclusivity, or we pay for a trip to wherever to write about a 16 year old hatchback.........

what annoys me more than anything though is, here you have a magazine that has done very little to take on appalling customer service from fiat, purely to protect the free trips and drives from the supercar end of the empire,

well i wouldn't personally wanna pay to go stay in a b&b in where-ever to do an article on a hatchback but maybe i'm a snob :yum:

Since the guy came on this site to gather our feedback i'm sure the matter of Fiats customer service (like where the hell have cleavland cars in aldershot gone:confused: ) will be covered or tackled in due course. (y)

Chris you have totally missed the point - people are expressing their views - have you seen the poll?!

If people used to buy AI mag and stopped buying it like myself doesnt that tell you something, and the fact that the last few months of my subscription I couldnt even be bothered to take it out the packet!

why should you pay for them to do an article on your car when its for a mag that they sell to the public ALL OVER THE UK!!!!!

I know a lot of people travel far to these AI events ect - and they cant be bothered to make an effort for their own customers

Wouldn't buy it because I'm a skinflint! :p

well i just can't see situations being the same...

Assuming Ferrari pay for their features, you gotta imagine Fiat pay for features like the croma for instance...

but Fiat won't pay for articles on an Uno Turbo or Punto GT or Cinq Turbo thats been tweeked in your own garage, these cars are older and the spotlight isn't on them as far as fiat are concerned... so are we paying for these features? ... well i guess so, but who else will? we buy the magazine (some of us) thats where the mags revenue comes from i guess so... how could it be helped?

But then what of the owners of classic Ferraris and Masteratis and such? and who paid for the article on the Abarth cars issue before last?

If you think about it all in money terms it begins to ruin everything.

i've got myself lost in my own argument so i'm gonna stop

Wow folks,
This is the main problem with internet forums :( you can never hear the way people say things and folks take it all the wrong way.

The editor get's invited over to Italy from time to time - but no where near as often as you think. We do need to be there quite a lot due to the fact that we are an Italian car magazine (y) Nobody "Pays" for features in the magazine. We have to write editorial content in the magazine so that our readers can find it interesting. I am not on the editorial team, but i imagine that we didn't head up there due to time, not really due to money. By heading up new newcastle and doing a shoot, it would pretty much wipe out a person for one and a half days and we do have a very limited editorial staff up here.

Please remember that as much as we love you fiat guys and really respect your loyalty, there are other marks and other types of readers who buy and read auto italia. A lot of those people do like reading about supercars and do like reading about alfa's and lancia's. It's a fine ballance trying to cater for the WHOLE italian car market.

We have taken in all your responses and will act on them within the next few months. Thanks again.
