Hi. I live in Queensland and own a Niki Lorenz Convertible. It is a 1990 126p imported then converted by Lorenz in Townsville and sold new as a 1991 Fiat 126p Lorenz convertible.
It has no doors a bit like a jolly.
I have owned it about ten years. I saved it from the wrecking yard when my wife fell in love with it. We fixed it up and drove it for years, about a 2 years ago it started to become unreliable. So a 32mm Minnow Fish Carburetor was fitted, which gave more power and helped a bit, but it flooded so a fuel pressure regulator was fitted with an electric pump and a filter before and after the pump.
All seemed good till one day it stopped again it appearred to be the relay on the pump. and it was left sit about a year.
So I am starting again, now the brakes need doing and the fuel system is rotted out , the fuel tank pump and sender are all rusty.
So I thought I would join the forum and share the experience this time.

Not good pictures I know but I am retired now and am thinking of giving the old girl a face lift. I found more info on this little FSM, F#ken Small Machine.
I found the designer, He was going to import these to Australia and convert them to be a Mini Moke alternative.

All approvals and Australian compliance for limited production were complete, then Air Line strikes forced the closure of the business.

So only 2 were built 1 buy hand using a used vehicle (red), and a 2nd one on the new production jigs (white)

We have the red one and its unknown if the white one still exists.

It's a really small world. I was at a friends place giving a hand with some jeep repairs and I was discussing the Lorenz convertible and another friend of his visiting asked if mine was red, turns out he just found the white one at the Wit Sundays and is waiting delivery. Its a barn find been in storage about 12years. Wish I had found it, what's the odds?

yer mate that was me cant wait to pick the little beauty up

Now why couldn't my dad have gotten me one of these when I was a kid?

Does he actually drive it? :D
No, but I'm sure he would like to, he likes to go for drives in it.
The first time I took he for a drive in it he was only about 5yrs old and he took one look and asked is it safe, then on the way out of the driveway he was saying it was bad idea. But he loved the drive and still loves tripping around in it.
