Im really interested in this too.
Anyone with any info would be greatful.

I have a 1.2 Sport

The induction kits , makes the car sound fairly good, but they dont really give a performance increase, they sort of give the impression that they help, but they dont.

You have to remember Fiat put in millions of euros in development of these cars, engines and drivetrains (y)
You must be nuts If you think a £35 after market air filter Is going to make any difference:rolleyes:

Totally agree
It's a bit like putting "Lexus style" lights on your car and thinking that something knocked out in China for 2p is better than the original manufacturers design.

Think about it - why would there be any simple performance mods.

intake and exhaust mods (cone filter and performance exhaust) will free up the breathing and you could get a 10% improvement easily

standard kit is restrictive for noise regs hence why there is power to be released(y)

the 1242 FIRE has been messed about with in Cinqs for years and is a great engine and responds well to such mods

Fair point about the exhaust system and manifold, but I don't think that is what the OP had in mind as a simple mod. As for the air filter, can't see much happening with that alone. The engine will suck in the required amount of air anyway.
I got huge gains on a rear engined Simca Rallye with a 4 into 1, straight through system, but then again from engine to exit was only about 4 feet. Messed about with many airfilters over the years ( twin sidedraught carbs ) but always went back to the original airbox.

panel filter is a very simple mod and will help responsiveness(y)

RobW, if you have any good names or products could you PM me?
I have a 1.2 Sport, but looking for a easy upgrade option, dont care about money, but dont really want to change bits of the car itself, maybe like Induction kits, or other bits and peices that are easy like that.

i thought we weren't allowed to recommend products by name?

Why not? Im not affiliated to them i just use there products like i use forge products so i reccomend them to people, where as you have very strong ties with a certain mapping company dont you?

you wont get an unbiased view off RobW on tuning products. He will just tell you that GSR and Red Dot are crap and that Angel are the best.

nope as my sig says i am independant and unbiased

I won't say GSR or Red Dot are crap, in fact I used to be a partner in GSR and have had good experience of Red Dot as well, as I have with Angel(y)
