I have a 2001 1.1SX bought for daughter to learn to drive in.
Cooling fan is U/S so need to replace. Its the MPI engine and the rad fan is on a plastic mounting plate. Been the scrap yard , two available but off earlier cars (a 0.9 and a 1.1 Sporting) so the mounting plate carrying the fan is metal. They look far more sturdy than these later all plastic ones but does anyone know if the mounting holes are same number/ same location. I know the rad is different as the earlier cars have the fan switch in the rad whereas the later ones are switched via ECU and relay via 30A fuse behind battery.
Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers:)

Fuse had blown due to fan being U/S, replaced that , relay switched in , 12v reached fan plug and lit a test bulb I had on it. Fans deffo caned, i applied direct 12v to it and it either moves very slowly or not at all. Right so you're saying a metal framed early fan won't replace a later plastic frame unit?

Cracking links, thank you. Picked one up for £38 inc p+p.
Perfect fit exactly as orig inc elec connection, quiet, plenty of air sucked thro rad.
Cooling the little fella really well now, cheers for the help folks
