I am about to change my engine after something deep down went plink (best descrip;tion I can give).

Using 247.com I have been contacted by 4 different breakers all offering good deals with money back and short guarantees etc but - they have asked me to specify such things as:

Is it a plastic or plastic/aliumium manifold

Does it have an alltin sump or ali one

There is also a question about whether it has a plastic injector sensor or some such thing.

I am now totally confused.

Any help would be appreciated. The car is an X regd 1.2 80 16V

Regards

Kevin

theres 3 kinds of 1.2 engine

CF1, CF2 & CF3

Yours is on the border of being cf2 and cf3.

mine is a 2000 (v) and is a CF2.

think T plate was CF1,V & W were CF2 & 2001 onwards was CF3 (the best one to have as I don't think the gearbox was as susseptable to breaking like the other 2)

can't help more than that :(

Hi,

Before you part with your cash. I have a though for you. A y reg 1.2 (Mark 2) Brava came into a scrap yard in Bury (Autosave).

The engine as only done 46k and has not been broken yet. According to the scrap yard man, it came due to no tax etc.

You could listen and drive (on their land and road) the car before taking the engine.

They may even fit it for you or at leat help you. They have always been very helpfull towards me!
