Hi All,

For anyone that keeps fish, do you have any idea how websites send live plants? Im trying to order some but I usually get things delivered to work, meaning live plants would be left for at least a few hours.

I expected there to be a section about it on their site but no one seems to specify how they deliver.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers!

I have bought quite a few plants of ebay, even some rare salt water Mangrove seeds. The plants always looked a bit ropey to start with (due to travel) but recovered well. Most have come in bags with wet tissue, the Salvinia Natans being the exception, that came in a petri dish.

Make sure you rinse them really well, they always seem to carry baby snails (great if you have a Puffer fish, otherwise a PITA). Also sometimes they come with Duckweed which spreads like wildfire. Watersprite is my favourite hassle free plant, grows like crazy and has taken my bore hole nitrate loaded tap water down to undetectable levels in my little shrimp tank. (y)

Valisneria need plenty of light and water on the harder side. Check the Wet Web Media website for advice from the leading boffs in the industry, and if you get stuck the'll even answer your questions. ;)
