Apple CarPlay vs UConnect

Morning!

Does anyone have any experience of Apple CarPlay? From the info I can find, please correct me if I am wrong, it does the same as UConnect but gives you an Apple interface on the screen.

I have Apple Music which I am hoping to use as a music source and the hands free phone use is important. I’m not too worried about Nav but I gather that with Apple CarPlay you can use the apple maps function...

I use CarPlay in another vehicle I drive, honestly I find it a better interface, it does offer the same as UConnect but has a lot of tailored apps by other developers such as Spotify, Google Play Music, Tune In Radio etc etc, plus you have the use of Siri, Apple maps and of course, the Music app.

UConnect requires an intermediate app to control phone functions like music as far as Im aware whereas CarPlay is built into all iPhones

Personally for connectivity and ease of compatibility I'd say go with CarPlay over UConnect, but honestly it's down to personal preference :smile:
