what is a variator, what does it do, how do you replace it, how much does it cost.

It varies the camshaft timing, you replace it by taking the head to bits and dunno how much they cost.

Of the bravos only the HGT155 has one.

the variator cost about £90. but it the other costs too. timing belt £25, balancing Belt £30, (timing belt tensioner £44, balance belt tensioner £30. best to replace them) then you have the laber on top of that. on the alfa 145 cloverleaf it is about £500 at alfa romeo.
