Have had a supplier in today showing us some samples of neon lighting that we may be interested in for new checkout designs. They are one sided strips that are flexible enabling you to get round any bends should you want to.

Having a quiet word after the meeting I asked if they could be supplied to use 12V and was informed this would be no probelm as they already do them. The standard length is 1m coming in almost any colour (although we will be using red, yellow and green ourselves) and would cost around £35-£55 each.

Now as I'm no modder I don't know if this is a good price or not so what are your thoughts? (The green ones are well smart BTW).

No. It's a bit more heavy duty than that. I am waiting for some pics to come in and will post as soon as I get them. To give you an idea, if you look at a supermarket checkout at the bump rails (stops the trolley bashing the metalwork) these are neon versions of them.

ahh, now that would be more useful - neon string like on that site is a bit crap really!
It's pretty robust too. Externally mounted on a car I can't see anything damaging is short of an axe!
