anyone got p&a sideskirts ? (need help with fitting)

i took mine to a bodyshop today to get a quote for fitting / spraying etc and pretty much all the body shops started moaning and groaning about door clearance, the side skirts them selves have a lip on the top of them which sits nicley in the door sill, i am told that when sprayed they will catch on the door when the door is being opened and closed and this will eventually take the paint off both the sill and the bottom of the door, and it will cause rust on the bottom of the door. the way round it given is to trim the top lip of the side skirt and stick it on with adhesive and bond it but i will have a 2mm strip of black bonding just below the door.

has anyone fitted these ? are such drastic measures needed ? couldent i just stick a think 1mm layer of cloth of felt in the door sill to stop the door/sill rubbing?

anyone fitted it ? please advice because i dont want a "bodge" job done considering i have speant 2 months waiting for these skirts i want them fitted right.

any advice would be much apriciated.

did none of the places give you a price at all then?

i'd firstly suggest a quick email to the people you bought them off just asking for advice, alaso, ive seena few other bravo's with them on, track down a pic of those cars, post on here see who knows the owner and can get you an email address.

i guess fair play to the bodyshops for advising you of the hazards instead of just going ahead then 2 months down the line you're not happy.

Hey Bahney,

My mate Rob has had his done and i know the bit u mean. It lips around near to the door hinge if i can remember rightly!! I can tell u it doesnt catch on my mates at all, i think they are talking crap! There will be alot of work with blending them in, so r u having a total repray cause if ya not u will have to have the rear panels sprayed aswell if they are blended in!!

Cheers al thats all i needed to know mate as long as the doors close ok then i will be alright, i am getting the rear quarter pannels sprayed and the skirts smoothed in so i get a good end product hopefully both my front and rear aprons will be smoothed into the bumpers as well to make it same all round and no joins anywhere.

any idea how much he payed to have it done ?
