Was the power increase worth the money did it do what it said on the box? which type of chip was it? any noticeable side affects apart from fuel going down quicker than water down a plug hole.

What was it like to fit and did you have to have the vehicle tuned afterwards?

Anyone heard of the tuningchip again is it any good, I realy fancy getting one sopposed to give an increase of 30% to approx 138ps which If calc worked ok is 132 bhp from a diesel NICE.

Just wating for an email back with some details:)

There was a thread on this about a year ago so my memory of it is a little hazy.

A couple of people hads their TDs chipped and they all said it made a big difference.

The other option you have was a piggy back ECU which again made a big difference.

I cant remember he exact url but it was something like tuningbox.com???? for the piggy back ECU's

Hopr that helps a little

Why Bother

The whole reason of buying a Diesel is to save on fuel costs so by chipping it you are bound to use more fuel so it defeats the object of buying a Diesel. I would stick with a higher revving petrol engine that doesnt smoke like a HGV over 3000 rpm.
This is just my opinion and not a dig to provoke an argument. If you do chip your Diesel then fair play to you like I said it's just my opinion.

Re: Why Bother

It's like anything people always want to improve something, More power, more sounds, more toys ect ect, diesels are now been produced with quite a bit of power without compromising fuel consumption, I drive a lot and a car with lot of power/torque/driveabilty is a lot more relaxing and enjoyable to drive just because you have the power mind does'nt mean you have to use it all the time :) it's having the choice that counts.

No offence/arguement taking by your comment.

tuning box

Contrary to popular belief tuning boxes will not dramatically decrase a diesel engines MPG. Provided you don't thrash the car every day it's unlikely that you'll see any decrease. I certainly haven't noticed a decrease in mine.

I fitted one last year and have an increase of around 25%. The model I purchased, plugs directly into your ECU and is easily removable if need be. You'll be looking at around £400 depending on where you purchase.

After installation, you'll have a 130bhp (ish) performance still returning 50+mpg.

Try bromleystuning.co.uk, that's where I got mine from, although there are plenty of other places to buy.

did you have to have the car tuned afterwards?
