any1 know the best smartphone/pda to buy??

was waitign for the mda compact 3 on t-mob
but despite beign pricey it doesnt have wlan/wifi, so its pointles really

ideally would prefer a pda handset tyhat does everything
inc. wifi and gps/sat nav

had a vario 2 which was good enough buts it is slightly big

is there any other phone that coems clsoe to it

still dont lik nokia unless a really good light one can be shown whih does everything?

I just got the 02 XDA Mini S, one with slide out qwerty keyboard,

only had it week or so, but seems good so far. is still a little bulky, but not much bigger than some of nokia's etc

dads got the 02 XDA EXEC. decent fone with full working keypad. gona b selling it soon, decent thing is it comes with 2 years warranty not jus the one!

i had the xda exec! Sold it on ebay tho.
Good if you "use" it, otherwise may as well carry a brick in you pocket. I didnt use it other than phone calls and vid calls,which was good, oh and hours of solitaire! Youll be able to find cracked tom tom sat nav software on tinternet somewhere, but you will need a gps cradle.

Ive got the MDA compact and the MDA Vario sat doing nothing at the moment, but they are both a step back.

as far as i know the Vario II is the best at the moment that incl wifi and not the size of the MDA III's, not compared the Vario II in size to my Vario one but i never thought that was big.

Heard alot of disappointments on the vario III and dont know why it was released.

The Nokia N95 is due Feb/March next yeah and is supposed to be the next bench mark.

Im currently using my K800i and its the best fone ive ever had, quality camera, radio, 3g, Loads of game/apps, incl sky by mobile! push email, rss reader, love it.

Sorry i meant disapointment with the Compact III not vario III.

How about the nokia E61? dont really know much about it though. Available with co pilot although you would need a gps unit.

yer thats my dads problem, he just uses it for fone calls, but is a gadget guy, so bougt it. he spend ages playing solitaire and that ball game aswell!...hes selling at XMAS hes decided 2 get a normal fone. im gna try n get him 2 but that nokia 8800 sirrocco. beautiful fone!

nplease mentiomn phones ith gps/ sat nav/wifi/wlan etc. no need to mention basic phone like 8800

mda compact 3 has ono wifi , t-mob have disabled it to get peopel to buy their web package

i had a vario 2 a while back but got blocked as i foudn it lol
nice phone, a bit heavy and size wise but not bad for a phone that does everything
if a n95 has all the above then it eems ideal but again its a nokia end of the day...

The only one as far as i know that does all those things is the compact 3, but in its none t-mobile forms - HTC Artemis/p3300 , maybe the O2 orbit imate and orange will have their versions which may possibly have wifi. its also possible that the tmobile version could have a registry setting that can enable the wifi. its been done before on other HTC phones.

i think the artemi/p3300 does have wifi

its just t-mob have taken it away

awas aware it can be fiddled?
but how does t-mob remove a wifi card?

saying that its cheap anyway £7.50 internet on you phone for whatever pruposes, no discnnection, no need to fidn a hotspot etc.

The P990, I have the p910i and the mda pro but seeing as you felt the Vario was too big you will find the MDA pro HUGE . But the Sony P990 is a hectic phone and I reckon you can get all those features on it. Plus side is that it is not too big. The MDA Pro is a really good smart phone but a lot of people say it is way to oversized. I think of it as a mini lap top it doesnt seem so big then lol

Best to sell it asap as the P990i is already out you might get about £100 for it now but would have easily got £200 a few months ago . Iv still got mine but its in the worst condition ever !
