any1 got ps3?? CAN IT DO WHAT WII DOES?

hi basic question but dont want wii for that reason alone, if ps3 can do it then ill buy that

as graphics blu ray will be a huge bonus etc

can anyone conform, i love the concept of a wii but if ps3 can do that, then i know what to buy

just got one for xmas and love it, worth the extra cash make sure you buy a hdmi cable for it !!!

The Wii and the PS3/360 have different target markets.

Wii is aimed at people who do not want state of the art graphics but want to look a pratt in their own living room waving their arms about (highly entertaining nevertheless).

PS3/360 are dedicated games machines and are there for cutting edge games.

Horses for courses, depends what you want from a console as to which one you go for.

I got both.

Wii is really fun to play. Alot of people say that you have to jump around like an idiot but you don't. It just involves you swinging the remote on the spot. However, there are a few games which involve you jumping around like an idiot to get the most out of it.

The Wii is aimed at children so if you like gameplay and cartoon graphics, go for it. If you like serious, grownup games, get the ps3.

i got daughter a wii for xmas. got the bugger chipped and now got over 75 games to play. it has been the most entertaining xmas in years. all the grandparents and aunties were on playing bowling, tennis etc...Rayman rabbids, medal of honor 2 etc.Hope they all moaning about sore arms like me today

I would buy another - just because they are so much fun. yes graphics aren't the best- but it is improving. Also expect to seem a lot better games this year. Capcom have now decided to take WII serious and alot of company are mow jumping ship from PS3 because the fan base is not there! and also Sony charging developers far too much money.

Ive played both the 360 and PS3 (ive still got the ps3 that tells its own stories)
The Games annonced are enough to get anyone excited! MGS 4 (Need i say more?)
Although it is dissapointing to see a few developers jumping ship but 9 out of 10 times its the shocking games that wont be brought out for the ps3 such as rayman and Crash banicoot(Yes great for the kids but way past their best!)
I Will also agree with the fact that microsoft is splashing the cash and gaining rights to convert sum of the games to tha darkside(Xbox) Such as devil may cry, But we've got Resi evil, which in all fairness may come out on the wii but its essentially a ps3 Title.

Does anyone else get the feeling i may have controdicted myself there about 50times??

i live inby Manchester- so took it to a guy and he did there and then. cost me £100 cos i have new chip in daughters. depending on your serial number- caan be as low as £55. Whereabouts are based? i can recommend a lot of installers all over uk with good service and very reliable

PS - The Playstation 3 is an awesome machine and, in my opinion, will be still going strong when the Wii will be coming to the end of its life.

totally agree with ya there pal. a more rounded machine, that has many uses!
