General  Any Other Marea Drivers?

Bought a 1997 Weekend last May 2002. Am the second owner. Luckily the previous ones took great care of it. Been enjoying using it, especially the low fuel cost since I cover quite a high mileage per day - about 100 km per day.
Check out the site www.italiaauto.com for a local Fiat/Alfa forum. Been a great source of info for me to maintain my car.

Cheers

New boy on the block - you can guess what I drive from my subscriber name! Actually it's a 100SX, nothing special, 1999, manual, aircon, one previous owner. However... I have found it to be a really good car - just the right size, ideal for carting daughter to college and back, and takes my instruments and amps without showing anything to the outside world. It's also more fun to drive than my previous wagon (Citroen BX estate) and looks much more stylish. Wife and both daughters are much more willing to be seen in it than the old white thing!

I've been watching the forums since I bought the Weekend, but now have taken the plunge and started posting. Keep up the good questions (I have no doubt that I will be asking a few), the better answers and all of the merry banter!

Have a good Weekend!

I own a 2000 Fiat Marea SX AC 1.6 16V Sedan assembled in Turkey at the Tofaþ plants of Fiat, it's a little bit higher than the standard European Version. I've bought alloy wheels. When I take pictures of it you'll see what it looks like...

With my best regards...

Hi! I am from Brazil, and I am really sorry for you guys, hehehe
I am the proud owner of a Marea ELX 2.4 20v.
Yes 2.4, she has 260HP and goes from 0 to 60 in about 8.6 seconds. Straight from the factory, no tuning needed.
Also, she has NOT a fat ass like yours', becouse over here, FIAT re-styled the car's boot.
BTW, over here we also have a 182Hp TURBO Marea, an it reaches 60 in about 7.6 seconds.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that my marea also has 21,0 Kgm / 3500rpm
of which 19 Kgm are already available at 1500rpm.
You should see this baby burning wheels.

Damn I think I have to go shopping in Brasil.

I WAS happy with my 2.0 20V NO Turbo version [:(!][V]

PS Fernando my spanisch is lousy. But when i look on the site http://www.fiat.com.br I believe it says an Marea Weekend 2.4 20V has 160 Hp and not 260 Hp!!

It's embarrising enough without the 2 [:(!] ;)

I've just bought a '98 1.8 marea elx, and it goes like stink.:D

But I think it revs too high, my punto 75 does about 78 at 4K rpm.
The marea does about 84 I think at 4K rpm.[}:)]

I'm sure they could have knocked another 2-300 rpm of 5th gear.

Anyway drove 200 miles at 75-80 and it only did 34.6 mpg:I

Is that about right?
Has anyone fitted a K&N air filter to a the 1.8?

Does it make much difference to the consumption.

My variable valve timing is sticking, sometimes it is fast, sometimes like driving a tractor.:(

What is the problem with your injection?

Your English is fine.

Two of my cilinders where dirty and my lambda sensor was not working very well. Right now, she is in the fiat service.
I would like to change the engine to a 1.600. What do you think?
