Hello to all. Just joined your forum. I don't have a Fiat at the moment but did own a 72 124 Sport for mnay great years. I now have an 71 Alfa Romeo Spider that was a true barn find-- 3 years to bring it to life. But that is not why I am writing. I picked up this most interesting piece of Fiat memoribilia and for the life of me haven't been able to figure out what it is. THe script on the Fiat badge is of a style that I cannot find elsewehere which leads me to believe it must be prewar? It is 6.5 inches tall ans 6.5 inches wide at the wings. It weighes in at almost 2 pounds 15 ounces. I thought it was a hood ornament but it may be from a trophy. It came from the estate of a man in Mexico city. Any idea what this might be?

These are the closest I can find to your mascot but I don't know what model Fiats they are. The red one is listed as just a 1929 Fiat.

There's also a history of Fiat badges thay may give you some idea of the period.

I had looked at the logo pics online and as you can see the logo on my badge is not like any of those shown. The tops of all the letters are slanted to match the curve of the badge. The eagle however appears to be identical.

The overall shape of the lettering may have been altered to fit the round badge, possibly by a coachbuilder such as Castagna. It still maintains the reverse slanting of the letter A as in all the Fiat logos though.
