500 Any alternative to turning the radio up?

Just signed up so first a confession! It's not my 500 but the good lady wife's. She's had it three years and loves it more than me (she says). I enjoy driving it BUT it's developed a squeak from somewhere around the steering column. It started as a groan but is now altogether higher pitched. It occurs when it's going straight so not the same as a lot of complaints I've read about. Any ideas would be gratefully received!

SO you might like the 500 more than the wife Eh..??,

maybe try driving with the steering rake adjusted differently for a few days,
see if it's still the same,

Nooooo ... you'll get me into all kinds of trouble! In my wife's life it goes 1. Fiat 2. Diamond Ring 3. Favourite Handbag.... then it's between me and the Vax as to who comes 4th! I'll stick with my Alfa GT (though my One True Love is still my 166 3.0 that I sold earlier this year). Thanks for the tip - I'll give it a whirl.

Hi i have no idea about your squeak. But i also had a 166 that i sold at the start of 2012 and still regretshe was a 2 litre twin spark also had a 147 which i dont miss at all

Check the lever which adjusts the steering column height.
Mine was squeaking as it rubbed against the steering column cover.

You can set the lever a couple of mm way from the housing to stop the squeak.
