Seicento Another yellow Schumacher

Introduction

So after getting my old sei where I wanted it and realising the I cant afford to insure it modified heres the build of my old sei
https://www.fiatforum.com/showthread.php?t=416521

I saw this nice looking schumacher on on ebay with no bids and a few hours left so I had a bid won it and now I've just picked it up and on the way back to Birmingham from London with it

What I didn't realise the car come with full service history up to when it was sat for two years and looks really rust free so I'm happy

Nice pinto. As I said before I have never seen a 5 door with dealer abarth kit on the road. Pretty rare beast. If only ever seen pics online.

Loads of hgts about though.

Has it got the optional subwoofer in the boot? I fitted one to mine which was a nice upgrade which uses wasted space behind the c pillar.

No it hasn't got it fitted hasn't even got rear speakers it but I do have one audio is the next thing on the list for the punto and and it being so rare is the reason why I wanted to keep it in the family

Actually got around to starting a job on the sei been getting the punto ready for brooklands so haven't had a chance to get on the sei but anyway I've managed to pretty much get the rear discs conversation all kn just gotta sort the handbrake cables and brake pipes out oh and trim the Allen key heads off the stud kit so I can do the wheel up all the way but it's nearly engine time 1460922022411.jpg1460922034204.jpg1460922045764.jpg1460922057434.jpg1460922069474.jpg

Decided to make a start on getting the 1242 in over the weekend with the weather being warm so here's the weekends work one major problem that's engine mount t belt side as you will se from the pictures

1462742739812.jpg1462742763734.jpg
Good start take the front end off I couldn't understand why most cento engine swaps have pictures off no front end now I definitely understand why lmfao

1462742848744.jpg
Loom and pipe work off

1462742904588.jpg
Old 52000mile 1108 out shame to not use it as it's a lovely engine but the head will stay in use on its red bigger brother

1462742971694.jpg
Now that's a problem but I'll sort it that reminds me I've gotta get the pollybush engine mount insert brought as I don't want to be spending £50 on a mount

1462743062824.jpg1462743080384.jpg
As you can see all out from under the car

1462743106897.jpg
Old vs new

1462743127618.jpg
Alt and trigger wheel on going to be running it wthout a cover for a bit so I can check everything is okay tell I'll refit the bottom cover

1462743195114.jpg
Was going to chance it with the old and must I say mint oem clutch but I thought while it's out I'll change the clutch might do the cable and quadrant at some point aswell

1462743280114.jpg
Gearbox all bolted back up and ready to go in

1462743345186.jpg1462743308834.jpg
And in admitted the gearbox mount is tight and I've still got to tighten up the rear gearbox mount and sort out the engine mount but it's nearly there have a jack holding the engine up in about the right place might be close or nearly there in the next few weeks then back onto the rear brakes

Nice work. I had exactly the same thing with that engine mount bracket and bolt. The threads were border-line so I tapped and reused it. Then on first shake down run it failed at 60mph and engine dropped down. No damage but the throttle cable was taught and the revs stayed high as it limped home. Wouldn't recommend it though

Cheers purf if that engine mount played ball it would have been bolted in and nearly ready to go

And was talking to my dad about the plate and bolt I quote "wouldn't worry about it I've sorted worse" so he's going to get that sorted for me

Didn't get much done today but got a new wheels though swapped tyres another scrap yard find but definitely a needed change for you now back to engine stuff oh and my polly insert come today

So had quite a good week on the cento getting stuff done through the week and finally having it running

First off I got hold of the right engine mount to fit my polly insert will be doing the rest when I can afford it 1464029154479.jpg

Then decided I'd find myself a set off gt3 style brakes of a Doblo van don't think there alloy like the gt3 callipers but the pad area between the gt2 calipers I had and these are alot bigger
1464029255183.jpg

My dad finished off the inlet manifold for me getting the map sensor in
1464029312624.jpg

Then Saturday I started to get it all bolted in and together and it decided to rain happens alot in Birmingham for some reason the cover I've had over the cento come in handy
1464029390786.jpg

Charcoal canister also removed and the Solinoid cable tied out the way still plugged in
1464029459024.jpg

Drive shafts in and engine bolted up sorry these are a little out of order bit you get the idea
1464029521943.jpg

Rad in and bolted up 1464029550265.jpg

Inlet mani on and had to make a gasket for the tb good old kelloges box
1464029612873.jpg

The first start up didn't got so well at first had the firing order well out and totally forgot I had another fire engined car sat over the road so open the punto bonnet copied the firing order and she fired straight up excuse the laugh in the video I got excited
[ame]https://youtu.be/w-0lEXVGDkE[/ame]

Downpipe all bolted up 1464029698903.jpg
1464029714966.jpg

How it looked at the end of the day
1464029846433.jpg

Also decided to work out of the wheels would rub the answer was no had loads off room and don't need to roll the arches
1464029979094.jpg

Just got tho figure out the rest of the exhaust now and I've had a few ideas for the inlet side of thinks basically the same as the attached picture with my cda on the end instead of a cone filter

1465115411462.jpg1465115424431.jpg

Nice! I have fitted a used janspeed back box recently and had to get some stainless adapters made up. Some wierd sizes needed huh

I'd like to say she's done bit she's far from it needs a few things sorting she's slightly lumpy and really sluggish low down untill about 4000rpm where she really comes alive so I'm going to check the timing brakes are absolutely **** atm so I'm going to give them another bleed I need to extend the rear lambda sensor and put it back in the exhaust as that could also been causing some hesitation I'm getting down low but hay that's project cars there never really going to be done 1465712914168.jpg1465712941205.jpg1465712953061.jpg
