My Cinq Sp came to me with a normal black key, its a 1997 model.
The other week I had my ignition switch cowling off to fit the wiring to an LED. I noticed something attached to the outer ring of the black round aerial thingy around the ignition switch where the key goes in. I think it was glued in place, possibly taped, but it was small [4mm?], and 'bulb like' in appearance. I am assuming that this is the transponder thingy that should be inside the 'proper' key. I didnt remove it.
If it sounds to you Cinq guru's that this is the transponder, if it can be removed, can I put it in a small capsule etc, on my key ring? or can it be used to make a proper key with?
Sorry, its all back together now and got no pics.
any ideas?
