Technical Annoying Rattle

Hi all
Ive just done my timing belt with all new pullys and new water pump
Also renewed alternater belt and pullys and renewed crank pully
All seems well but i still have a rattling noise on tick over but as soon as i touch the throttle it goes
Could the air con pump make a noise if its not charged with gas
because i have no noise with the alternater belt removed

Have a look at the air filter box and plastic hose leaving it its mounted to rubber grommets on the bottom and normally rattles like u discribe air con being empty would not make a diffrence to how it would run unless the bearing in pump had play in it

I will look at that
It just sounds as though its from the pully side of the engine
but maybe the noise is travelling

Just had the same, i not far from selling mine and the rattle which is metalic can get quite loud is coming from the clutch pulley on the alternator i think? will have mine off 2morrow so will report back.

Hi jtdman Ive just cured mine today
I bought another alternater belt for a non air con Fitted it and voila no noise at all
I was convinced it was the aircon pump Even though i could feel no play in the pully
But at least the noise got me round to doing the timing belt and all the other pullys and tensioners
