I have a Vibe slick sub woofer in my Mk2 Punto. with a Alpine amp powering it. The sub has been installed correctly with vibe wiring kit + In-line fuse etc. Has worked for while. Today decided to turn the amp gain from halfway which its been sitting at for ages months even. To quarter of full. Worked fine all day. Until about hour ago. Amp has cut off. The in-line fuse is fine. Checked the wires all in fine but the amp isnt powering up. The weird thing is now also. The control panel that has the window switches the Lights are out but the buttons still work fine.

Any Ideas?

sounds like a fuse else where in the car has gone either by your right knee when sitting in the drivers seat or under the bonnet in the black box next to the battery, im afraid i cant tell you which one it would be someone else might though

if its not a fuse then id say a bad earth

where is the amped earthed to?

Have you tried turning the gain down back to where it was? It sounds like the overload protection is cutting in, but check the amps fuse and use a multi meter on the cable to check power is geting through to the amp.

I will try turning the gain back down. There is 100% power going threw as ive got a inverter in the boot and thats turning on. I dont think the amp got a fuse so it does look like its blown. atleast its the amp rather than the sub etc
