right firstly i dont have a great knowledge on wiring a sub and amp up but iv got it all working its just there a few weird things happening that im not 100% what to do to stop them..

main on is when the engine is running i get a humming whirling noise coming from the speakers and sub...its effected by the engine noise and when u rev the car the noise does the same? ...what do i do?

also this not to important but when i turn engine on i get a sudden crack from the sub and speakers then works fine...doesa this most the time when i start up.

thanks ...things are probably very simple things but my knowledge isnt the best on this haha

iv tired moving the remote cable and phono jack cable to opposite sides but it still does it

Right well first off, you need to make sure, the contact under the screw is touching enough bare metal, as it might find the earth to power on, but not a solid connection, causgin interfearance, The whizzing/ humming noise is 99% sure to do with your earth, double check all connections, also do you have a radio interearance block on your head unit? these can somtimes play havok with amp and subs etc

When you turn your power on and the sub crack,s is is a loud sharp crack or just sound of a sub popping ish. This could either be, the sub is on it way out and bottoming out on power up. Or you have your levels to high when you first turn it on causeing a shot of high power into a more low powerd sub. (y)

go to a car hi fi shop and buy a thing called a gound loop isolator. if this doesnt work then buy an acoustic suppressor. Its like a spacer which clips on to your alternator. The whining noise is coming from the alternator.

I had a similar problem when I put a big ICE install in my XR2 a few years ago (I was young...!) I was advised by a hi fi shop to put the suppressor on and the isolator and it stopped all whining. The isolator cost about £5 (that was 1998 though). Wouldnt imagine it would be that much more expensive now.

As for the XR2, ford drivers have a real cheek to describe pandas as rusty, I can tell you! At least Bella (my panda) actually has inner wings...!
