I know that when wiring an amp that connecting the power lead direct to the positive terminal on you battery is the best idea.

But is there any where within the car that you can break into the live circuit easily and safely to prevent having to go through the hassle of trying to find a grommit in the bulk head and trying to feed the cable through??

It's a MK2 Punto??

Ta!!

Connecting a power cable directly to the positive terminal is the only way to do it IMO. :)

:yeahthat: if you tap into anything else it will be fused and if u tap something wtih a smaller size fuse than required you will blow it (e.g putting a 30amp amp onto a 5amp lighting cable.)

also if you find something with the right size fuse it may not have a big enough gauge cable than required then you will be melting cables rather than fuses!

finally if you tap like a feed to your rear lights or somewhere you may suffer from voltage drops which may give you light fade etc.

basically go for the hastle of finding the gromit! better than replacing your wiring harness!

hope this is help! :D

As has been said, definately need a connection directly to the battery, for safey of causing a fire, as well as better performance. It'll take you longer to find a suitable cable inside (unlikely) than to find a grommet :)
