A few months back I had a tyre in the front which was a bit low on tread. Next thing I know, which perhaps could have been expected, I had a puncture, which I replaced. I recall this was in the front of the car.

About a month back, I had a puncture again (drivers side). Found a nail in the tyre - had this replaced as it was too close to the wall.

On my way home from work today, nipped into the mrs' house only to park the car up to hear a hissing sound. Driving just over the road to mine the steering was all over the place and guess what... a puncture once again (passenger side)!

Not sure what the cause is yet but I think it went down pretty quick!

Am I doing something wrong or am I just unlucky?

Chris

yeah your doing somethign wrong, your going over nails and you poping your wheels LOL!!

why dont you get that self healing stuff? that goes in the wheels and if it gets a puncture it seals up.

if anythin it sounds like you`ve been unlucky, i wouldn`t say its anythin to do with your drivin, but if it helps just watch out where your drivin ie if you see glass on the road don`t drive thru it

BRAVO, why settle for anything less.

They're low profile tyres, so they're not cheap either!

What's this self healing stuff? Can I get it from Halfrauds?

Chris

it sounds like your just a touch unlucky mate in all honesty

as for the sealing stuff, its called something like gunk or similar, and yeah you can get it in halfords. its normally flourescent green and you squirt it in your tyres. when you get a puncture, say a nail or something, the gunk stuff sealas the hole by filling the gaps and setting

Gunk... haha.

I'll nip in there on the way home from work. No harm in trying it!

Cheers Andy

Chris

it is meant to be a temporary repair though so dont count on it for long term use :)

Oh, there's no point in that then as I have the foam stuff that fills the tyre. I'll just try and pump it up and get it to a garage.

Chris

no worries mate, but as Darren said it is only meant to be temporary mind.

i use it on my car and also on my bike and mountain board, not bad stuff at all i must admit

out of interest Chris, are you the Chris that was at trax with us? smoothed bumpstrips on a HGT?

Andy_sx

yeah the foam and gunk is generally the same sort of think though i think you are better with the foam

I'm not sorry Andy. I'm the Welsh one! Lol

I should really log in, but I can never be bothered.

I can get the tyres pretty cheap, so not to worry.

Once this is sorted, I can then concentrate on getting the other things fixed... broken engine mount, fitting an alfa handle (yes, I only have one fitted at the moment!), broken and leaking aerial, getting rid of the stains that the latter has made, broken mud flap. Oh yeah, and how could I forget the broken footwell neon! Lol

Happy Days!!

Chris

haha i have just fitted one of my under car UFO LEDs into the Boot of the car since some minks took my front one but crikey its like a bloody disco in there now Hehe :D

That gunk stuffs good my ol man got some with his alfa as its not got a spare wheel and he had a puncture out one day used that stuff in a layby and it aint gone down since (this was 3months back)
