i have an alarm with a positive trunk release output (a small red/black wire), but i'm not sure how to wire it up to a solenoid so that it releases the boot lid, i know if it was a negative output i'd need a relay, the fact that its positive has got me at a standstill,
would appreciate any help,

Thats simple
you need pos and neg to triger relay correct
so one side of relay connect to neg pin 85
the other side connect to red/black wire to pin 86 you have then relay trigger
so put 12v down pin 30 and when alarm triggers it relay will supply 12v to boot popper via last remaining pin 87 or 87a test on 5 pin relay

Hi, I know this thread is a bit old, but I'd like to add this boot popper to my wife's car would help when she's carrying the kids - pram etc!

So I can figure out the electrical bits, but where did you mount the solenoid and how did you connect it to the cable release / lock?

Thanks Peter
