hi ...

bascially as you know i need a decent alarm for my vehicle

i have a bravo 1.6 sx and it has a built in immobliser

the key i got one only one red and one blue, the blue key doesnt have any buttons on it, nor does the car have any switches inside to unlock doors

therefore one key simply unlocks the doors..

if i buy an alarm with immobliser, is there anyway the alarm with not use the immob part due to my bravo alrady having one???

all i really need is the led alarm and boot release function
my key might get lost there as the fob on top has worn away

therfore i nee a remote control for this alarm

i have looked on ebay but unsure of what item might be right
will to pay max £50 as the car doesnt need huge amounts of mponey spent on it

please reply
thanks

BLUE KEY only unlocks the doors
there is no button on it
and blue key is read by the bravo by shpwing the code signal for a few seconds on the instrument panel

however inside there are no central locking switches etc.

So the blue key doesn't start the car?

Does that mean that the only key that starts the car is the red key?

No all blue and red keys supplied with the car will start it.

The Red Key your advised by Fiat not to use as its used for programming keys and if i'm not mistaken the ECU to allow you to emergency start the car if the ECU/Immobiliser dies or something. It puts the car in Limp Mode.

You can buy car alarms without immobilsers, just fit an Alarm ontop of what you already got, since the Bravo has an immobilser as standard.

The alarm will come with a keyfob for you to arm and disarm the alarm. If you have central locking its possible to wire the alarm into the central locking aswell and the doors will open and close when you disarm and arm the alarm.

But you will have a fob to press to activate the alarm it wont be part of the Key.

If you need to get a replacement key then goto Timpsons, costs approx £25 to get a new one. They dont do alarm fobs tho.

Also forgot the Bravo can't have a button on the alarm fob to open the boot, well you can but it wont work. As the boot release on the Bravo isn't electrically operated, it works on a cable.

ok just read the replies
the blue key unlocks all doors

now i also have a red key
both blue and red key start the car
but i dont intend to use the red key

at the moment
another blue key is not in my mind (unless i lose it)

firstly an alarm
ok thansk for clearing up the immob however is it easy to fiddle with the central locking to work with the alarm?

seen a lot of ebay any links???

Yeah its very easy to connect two wires to the central locking wiring. Thats it.

Ask for Blackbravo as he has been asking about this recently.
