Alarm for cinq

can any body reccomend a alarm for a 96 cinq sporting with central locking?

car got broken into so have gone ultra paranoid and want to get a decent alarm that allows for movement to the vehicle to be detected and also movemnt inside the vehicle to be detected.

on a bugdet so will need to be under 100 quid and fitted DIY

i fitted a toad sterling pro to my cinq.paid about £80 IIRC though have seen them on ebay now for more like £50

do they go off if sum1 smashes window etc

well they have glass break sensors but with the ultrasonics the widow breaking would set them of anyway

question: when wiring in remote central locking for the alarm, does it wire in before or after the current central locking relay? and does it wire into just the drivers side, just the passengers side, or both?

you can connect to the drivers side of the dash IIRC for both sides

ive got a sparkrite SRA2-2. g/f's got the same, cheap but got a very good shock sensor!

this goes with all alarms i suspect but in the cinq engine bay there doesnt seem to be any decent place to put the main body of the alarm! the only place i can see is behind the passenger side headlight unit next to the map sensor.

any beter suggestions

just posting so that if any one incounters the same problem as me they can search fir this post.

if you get the spartkrite SRa2-2 alarm, and after installing it you find that opening the door doesnt trigger the alarm, check to see the rating of the interior light. i had to buy a new interior bulb 12v 10W (1.50 from halfords) to get the alarm to sense the door being opened! as the original 5W didnt draw enough of a current to be sensed
