Alarm & Central locking on my marea HLX

Anyone any ideas why my remote does'nt work ?
The light on the remote flashes, but nothing happens.
turning the alarm on with the little key in the fuse box and fiddling with the setting button as per the manual turns on the red flashing light on the dash, as soon as i open the door the alarm goes off.
Also no remote central locking.

me too

i have two keys for my bravo. one works fine with central locking etc and the other lights up the red light on the key but the car doesnt open and alarm goes off. i have some new batteries to try in it to see if that improves it any.

Below are the previous threads I extracted from this forum couple of months ago.

U HAVE TO CHECK SWITHES FOR OPEN CIRCUIT OR DIRTY CONNECTION:-
1. 4 DOORS SWITCHES
2. BOOT SWITCH
3. BONNET SWITCH

FOR MAREA/BRAVO/BRAVA - DISUASION LEDS OR INDICATOR ON FRONT FACI AREA THAT FLASHES INDICATES THE FAULTY!
1 PULSE RIGHT FRONT DOOR
2 PULSES LEFT FRONT DOOR
3 PULSES RIGHT REAR DOOR
4 PULSES LEFT REAR DOOR
5 PULSES VOLUMETRIC SENSOR ON COURTESY LIGHT
6 PULSES BONNET LID
7 PULSES BOOT
10 PULSES AT LEAST 3 CAUSES ALARM!

let try this step.

MANUAL DIAGNOSIS - TO CHECK THE SWITCHES FOR BONNET/DOORS/BOOT.

1. OFF THE EMERGENCY KEY
2. OPEN YOUR BONNET
3. SWITCH ON THE MERGENCY KEY

IT IS POSSIBLE TO CARRY OUT MANUAL DIAGNOSIS BY OPENING THE BONNET AND TURNING THE IGNITION KEY FROM MAR TO STOP. WIHTIN 15 SEC. PRESS THE THE BUTTON AT BONNET ON TOP OF THE FRONT GRILL 7 TIMES IN RAPID SUCCESSION IN LESS THAN 10 SECONDS, THE TURN SIGNAL WILL GIVE ONE FLASH.

IF THE TEST REVEALS NO FAULTS, THE TURN SIGNALS FLASH 3 TIMES % SIREN GIVE THREE BEEPS.

DURING THIS TIME LOCK & UNLOCK THE EACH SWITCH AT A TIME. STEP BY STEP
1. 4 DOORS
2. BOOT
3. PRESSING THE BONNET SWITCH

EACH STEPS U DO FOR LOCK & UNLOCK THE TURN SIGNAL GIVE A SHORT FLASH & THE SIREN BEEP INDICATE THAT THE SWITH IS OKAY. IF NOT THE SWITCH MIGHT BE DIRTY OR FAULTY.
