Hi all, I got my OBD2 scanner the other week and tried it on my car but it didn't detect any faults at all. My airbag warning light is still on and it will not go off at any point. When I switch the ignition on for the first time the warning light comes on as the ecu checks the car and then it goes off for a split second and then comes back on again immediately. I have had a look around the system but as I don't know it that well I don't know what I am looking at.
I have a new airbag switch with a new key but there is no battery in it, surely there is no need for the ecu to detect the chip in the key at the airbag switch is there?
The problem is I am taking it for its MOT today cos my mate is buying the car from me so obviously I want it right before he gets it.
Its a 2000 old shape JTD 1.9.
Any help...again...would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dave
