Hi all,
A few months ago my 1.6 dynamic started running a bit strangley. A loss of power, flat spots throughout the rev range. Anyway after a service and other stuff the problem is not as bad as it was, but the car still isn't 100%. Anyway, today i noticed that the hose where the resonator box is joined to the air intake hose has completely come away leaving 5 millimetre gap. The resonator box seems to be just held in place by the surrounding components. Could this be a cause to the cars problem? I am gonna take the car down to the garage today but any input some of you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

The reasonator is there to smooth out the air pulses during low speed aoperation and to act as a silencer at low speeds, the unit doesnt really effect high speed driving so it depends what the faults are as to whether its relevant or not, additionally though any air thats drawn in has not been filtered so you need to get it fixed asap regardless.

Well the car is worse at lower speeds, every now and again it hesitates like a misfire but i don't think it is misfiring. I'm taking the car in to the garage again in the morning.
