Technical Air Filter

Anyone manage to find out how to replace the air filter? Looks like I'm going to strip half the engine to get at the bugger. JTD BTW.

Hi,

You need to lift your car and remove the protection cover under the front. Then you can get to the air filter box with no problem.

Sounds like a nightmare, I hope mine isn't like that, I want to stick a K & N on soon!

Got it done thanks. I think it's specific to the turbos TC. The air filter has to be close to the turbo.
Anyway another 7hp unleashed. With the K&N I can now turn my Powerbox up to the max(warp factor 7).
It's easier to sit at 30mph in fifth now and it seems to get to ninety a lot quicker.
A good improvement for me.

Lester you put K&N air filter right? Any problems with it?i heard that the installed filter had problems with the stilo electronics ... is it true in your case?

I haven't come across any problems yet. It's just a replacement K&N filter though, not one of those induction kits.

does it REALLY give you more power ... can you feel that?? What about the SOUND?? How often do you need to change/clean it??

I don't know if you could feel the power increase with just a filter change. In my case the increase could be felt because I could move the Digital Powerbox http://www.dieselchiptuning.com/catalog/default.php I have fitted to the highest setting.
Yes, there is a slightly more raspy/throaty/sucky noise from it, but not a lot of difference.
Sevice intervals are 50,000 miles.
