I’m going down the 12v route - something like this Outequippro I’ll have it running whilst driving, on eco, and when on site attached to ehu topping the battery up, I can turn it up fully. Shipping is $200 dollars from USA + import duty and although they get good reports, reading into some customer service replies they import them in - one could guess where from

Yes there are many many options on EHUP, that poses no fundamental problem, you might just need to upgrade your electrics and fuse box and find campsites with good power.

Running AC from battery power is possible in limited ways if the roof is fully covered in solar panels and the vehicle is well insulated. But the energy budget is marginal compared with the amount of solar heat that needs removing and it's usually not possible to cool the entire space to a comfortable temperature that way, though you can produce some nice cool airflow to sit in. Without ongoing charging the batteries would indeed only last an hour or two.
